Feelin’ ‘22

Home Design Trends of 2022

Year after year, we see home trends mirror what is going on in the world around us. When the world shut down & home is all we had, we saw homes transition into places of work, restaurants, movie theaters, & even wedding venues. Two years later, as the world slugs out of the pandemic (or perhaps just grows comfortable when unprecedented times become precedented), we see the home being once again reflective as a sign of the times.

Though we still see elements of the stay at home order still driving home trends, 2022 is revealing something we are very excited about— the reintroduction of ‘fun’ into home design. All rules are going at the window as people want a home that is a reflection of who they are and what sparks joy for them. We hope you enjoy and are perhaps inspired by some of our favorite trends of 2022!

The Color Green

From cabinets to wall colors, green is even being referred to as the ‘new neutral’. Classic, yet fun, everyone will be green with envy if you adopt some green hues in your home. Be creative and think of the whole spectrum - both bold and muted (olive and forest green to sage and emerald).

Texture & Warmth

The integration of textures into home design has us feeling good— literally. Think less of the boucle trend of 2021 & more toward natural and organic textures. Wood, marble, linen, seagrass, jute and elements of nature are bringing dimension into the home as homes continue to move away from the white, sterile trend of previous years. When a pandemic-ridden world has become sterile, why must your home?!

Grandmillenial Decor

This term has been increasingly used to describe the use of antique older elements in conjunction with modern pieces to create an updated, yet classic, vibe. Bust out that hand-me-down cabinet from your Grandma or visit local antique shops like Midland Antiques & showcase it in your dining room because it’s back! Move aside Jonas Brothers, floral wallpaper is the only comeback we care about.

Workstations & Home Bars

A leftover from the pandemic, work stations & home bars have been solidified as home staples. Who says you can’t work hard & play hard in your pjs?? Hard to go back to a world where your commute is less than thirty steps & you can make a judgement free mai-tai on a Tuesday SO we think they are HERE to STAY.

So there ya have it! Here’s to a year of joy & fun both at home and out!
