5 trends of the big ‘23

Here are some of the top trends in home design that you can expect to see in 2023. . .

wallpaper

Wallpaper has had a stronger comeback than straight legged jeans. We are seeing it most in powder baths & mudrooms- likely due to the price of installation on bigger rooms.

closed floor plans

Closed floor plans are crawling back, a complete 180 of the past few decades. While the open floor plan continues to be the norm’, the transition towards more walls is on the horizon. Because who really wants to be doing dishes while listening to their kids’ cartoons ?!

art deco

I’ll be honest with you, I’m not exactly sure what art deco is. I am not an interior designer by any means, so to me, art deco is a vibe. It’s fun, bold colors and patterns used unapologetically. See below for some inspo’ of my take on art deco. Now, would the painted pool bottom be hard to pull off in central Indiana? Sure. But, c’mon shooters shoot!

home as your everything

The concept of your home being your everything became cemented basically overnight. I believe that night was around March, 20, 2020?? The concept has stuck because why wouldn’t it? Your home can be an office, a spa, a fitness center, a bar, a movie theater all rolled into one convenient mortgage payment. Introverts rejoice, this trend is here to stay.

Mix & Matching

Think mixing colors, woods, metals, and materials. Doing so gives spaces dimension and also gives a ‘home-y’ feel. Get wild and throw it all together.
