My story will resonate with you if you’ve ever asked the question - what if I drop everything and pursue my crazy dream? What if? As a teenager, I sacrificed everything to focus on my studies and pursue my dream of getting into a top institution to study business. At fourteen years old, I sat inside a public minivan by myself and rode eight hours to a foreign town to attend the first day of high school, holding onto a suitcase that had my uniform and books. My home country had just gone through a period of violence following a controversial election and despite my parents urging me to stay home and wait for things to calm down, I stubbornly refused and decided that I would not miss another day of school. Fast forward to ten years later and at 25, I had a new dream of becoming a business owner. During my childhood, I had watched my dad start his company, grow it to more than 500 hundred employees, and almost overnight lose everything after filing for bankruptcy. Yet, despite enduring the hardships that followed—losing our home, being asked to leave class for defaulting on tuition fees, and other traumatic experiences—something in me knew that I was destined for entrepreneurship. It seemed exciting and I craved adventure.

Sure, I had seen entrepreneurship's ugly scars, but I also believed that I could make a lasting impact on the world through my creative and entrepreneurial endeavors. And so, I gave up the stability of a high-powered career path to pursue entrepreneurship, carving out a new path as an independent business educator. I am honored to add to the list of business memoirs written by black authors. While I cannot speak for everyone in the communities I am a part of, I am most proud to amplify the voices of women in business, of African immigrants, and of the black community. I hope this story gives you a new perspective. This story spans continents and decades, capturing defining moments of my life in Nairobi, Johannesburg, Notre Dame, and Atlanta. Grab a vanilla latte if you please and embark on this adventure. Find Your Colors: Building A Passion-Driven Business (A Memoir).

📌 [2] Downtown - New York City-based Five Iron Golf has agreed to lease ~14,600 square feet on the ground & second floors of the Industry apartment project at 421 N Pennsylvania St. The facility will feature 12 golf simulator as well as televisions, leisure games, and a full-service restaurant and a bar. 📌 [3] Carmel - Ohio-based developer is attempting to a build 52 townhouses at Jackson's Grant Village on Carmel's west side. The townhome and clubhouse are attempting to be built on 8.83 acres of land at the 21-acre site at the NE corner of 116th street & Spring Mill road. Townhouses are to begin at $575,000. Jackson's Grant land is named as such because former President Andrew Jackson gifted the property to an Indiana resident through a personal land grand in 1834. Who knew you were getting a history lesson today?!
