June Recap

Why do the fun months always fly by?! Though it feels like race weekend just happened, here we are discussing plans for the Fourth.

We hope everyone is having a fabulous summer vacation filled with sunshine, bodies of water, and cold drinks. Safe travels if you are leaving town for the holiday & enjoy a quieter town for those staying. Stay cool & stay thriving friends! Here is ~hopefully~ a fun read to ease you into the weekend…

📍 Community Updates 📍

📍[1] Downtown - Eli Lilly and Co. plans to build a 57,000-square-foot conference center on an existing parking lot at its headquarters campus. The goal is to host more global meetings in Indianapolis. Indianapolis, SO hot right now.

📍[2] Zionsville - Bradley Ridge- a Hedke Development slated to build 290 homes ranging from $700k-$3m- has received final approval in Zionsville. A grassroots organization, Save Rural Zionsville, was formed to oppose the development (& similar developments in rural Zionsville). The neighbor-ran organization was able to decrease the amount of homes from the proposed 410 houses & townhomes to 290 single family homes. Sounds similar to plot of The Hannah Montana Movie to me.

📍[3] Fishers - White River Park in Fishers will have 2.5 miles of trails, a kayak launch, two overlook boardwalks, & a creek splashing area on 120-acres next to the river. The 96th & Allisonville Road park will open next summer.

📍[4] Westfield - The Westfield City Council passed an ordinance approving a ‘Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area’ or DORA in the city. This, if approved by the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, would allow patrons to carry alcoholic beverages in open containers out of bars & restaurants and walk around. Cheers to The Westfield City Council!

“S” is for.. Sakura

This Japanese restaurant conveniently located on Keystone Ave has great sushi at a great price. I've only carried out, so cannot attest to the dine-in experience, but definitely worth adding to your take-out rotation.
